My wife and I recently celebrated our 30th anniversary! To mark the occasion, we decided to do something special… especially because COVID stole the opportunity to celebrate five years ago. And so we planned a week-long birding trip to southeast Arizona. Yes, Arizona in August.
It turns out that, while southeast Arizona is indeed hot in August, the full picture is somewhat more complicated. And when you mix the diverse terrain with the monsoon rains, August is one of the best times for birding.
So here are my favorite photos from the trip. (Believe me… I had tons to choose from!)
