I do most of my birding in the Shenandoah Valley, west of Virginia’s Blue Ridge. Any chance to get to the Atlantic coast is a treat. Over Christmas, I spent time vacationing with in-laws in South Carolina and had a wonderful chance to bird in Huntington Beach State Park. Here are my favorite photos from the trip, including one of a saltmarsh sparrow—a lifer!

We found Huntington to be a fantastic place to see birds of all types.

I agree! I have never had a bad day birding there.
